China: Take Two
Students decided to do "Cans for China" to aid in their food supplies. They were only able to collect 9 cans of food and thus needed to revamp their project. Students used Garageband to create a podcast of a news report to spread awareness of natural disasters.

Taking to the Next Level
Jeanette and I decided to take our Power to Learn Grant idea to the next level. We would use the devices in a similar matter with research and creating Web 2.0 tools. Instead of an environmental projects, we came up with the approach of Humanitarianism. How could students at our school help the people of the world? We came up with "Adopting a Country." This idea goes perfect with our Fine Arts at our school for fourth grade. We collaborated closely with our Music teacher, Ms. Aycock, for the students to create music, lyrics, and play instruments that closely relates to our humanitarian themes. Students are not only creating music but playing instruments with their own music writing and playing skills.
Students have been using calendars to plan backwards all of the elements they need to make their expo presentation phenomenal.
